Rosehip Farm & Garden
Linda Bartlett & Valerie Reuther
338 Fort Casey Rd, Coupeville, WA 98239
Rosehip is a small-scale, diversified farm producing organically grown fruits and vegetables for sale through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), Coupeville Farmers' Market, our on-farm produce stand, and to local restaurants. We produce over 60 vegetable varieties with an emphasis on heirlooms suitable to this climate. We have a small orchard with apple, pear, plum, peach, and apricot. Rosehip also grows cut flowers and a nice selection of nursery plants suitable for Whidbey Island growing conditions.
We are open for Farm Tour both Saturday and Sunday. Come and see where we grow all the beautiful food you've been buying all year.
On Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30, our friends Greg Lange and Danny will be demonstrating how to plow with draft horses using a beautiful pair of Belgian horses.
Also on Saturday from noon to 4, CSA members Jon and Carla McCoy will be here for a spinning demonstration. Jon makes beautiful spinning wheels and Carla will be demonstrating her spinning skills.
Continuing on our path toward sustainability we have recently installed a Solar Power System to help meet the needs of the farm and our home. A representative from Whidbey Sun and Wind will be on hand to answer questions. The Whidbey Island Conservation District is featuring the panels as "Best Farm Practices."
You will be able to see the tools we use to prepare and weed our beds without using tractors and learn more about season extension techniques. Check out the “chicken tractors” (moveable chicken pens), too.
And, of course, you will be able to buy produce.
Directions: Heading south on Hwy 20, turn right onto Terry Rd (left if heading north), then left onto Fort Casey Rd. We are 1 mile on the right.
